World Music Day
World Music Day, also known as Fête de la Musique, is an annual global celebration held every June 21st, the summer solstice, encouraging free, public music performances by amateurs and professionals in streets, parks, and public spaces. Originating in France in 1982 as an idea from the Minister of Culture, Jack Lang, the event's goal is to make music accessible to everyone, turning cities into massive concert halls with musicians playing for the love of it, not for profit.
