Crows the cock before the morn;
‘Kikirikee! kikirikee!’
Roses in the east are born.
‘Kookoorookoo! kookoorookoo!’
Early birds begin their singing;
‘Kikirikee! kikirikee!’
The day, the day, the day is springing.
