Veterans Day Essay
Veterans Day is a special holiday celebrated every year on November 11. It is a day to honor all the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. These brave people are called veterans. They worked hard and risked their lives to protect our country and keep us safe.
Veterans Day began after World War I, when peace was declared on November 11, 1918. It was first called Armistice Day, but later it was changed to Veterans Day to honor all veterans, not just those from World War I. Today, we celebrate this day with parades, ceremonies, and moments of silence to show our respect and gratitude.
Veterans are real heroes. They show courage, strength, and love for their country. Because of them, we enjoy freedom and peace. On Veterans Day, it’s important to say “thank you” to all veterans — those who are still with us and those who have passed away.
Veterans Day reminds us that freedom is not free. It comes from the sacrifice of those who serve. We should always remember their bravery and promise to keep our country strong, peaceful, and united.
