The History of Thanksgiving

The first Thanksgiving was celebrated in 1621 by the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag Native Americans. The Pilgrims came from England and faced a very hard winter. With the help of the Native Americans, they learned how to grow crops and hunt for food. After their first successful harvest, they had a big feast to give thanks.

That feast became the tradition we now call Thanksgiving. Today, people celebrate with parades, dinners, and moments of gratitude. It reminds us of the importance of peace, friendship, and working together.
