on station platforms
sparkling with frost.

The good to be home hugs
as the warmth of the house
folds round us.

The thank you hugs
while wrapping paper & presents
cover the carpet.

The good of you to help hugs,
(I hate preparing sprouts!)

The really glad we’re safe
and all together hugs.

The catch you unawares hugs.
(Surprise ones are often the best)

The hugs that spin round
in a crazy dance to some daft
Christmas tune.

And simply the love you hugs
for no other reason
and none needed.
