Santa At The Door

Martha said she’d seen him.

Apple pie cheeks,
and a smile that could melt the frozen ‘tricicles.’

He had a pillow-down tummy,
dragon-proof boots,
wooly mammoth gloves
and clutched Parcel Mountain.

Then came three rings at the door,
as bright as the sun
glittered snow.

A skittering of excitement,
as they scuttled to the door
and there he was.
The postman!

Martha said she’d seen him.
We told her that she had.
