Remembering the Past, Building the Future
National Freedom Day is a time to remember the past and to build a better future. When President Lincoln signed the 13th Amendment, he changed history forever. His action gave hope to people who had lived in darkness and opened a new chapter for America.
But the fight for freedom did not end there. Many leaders like Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks continued to fight for equality. Because of their bravery, we now live in a more just and fair society.
This day reminds us to be grateful for our freedom and to protect it. It encourages young people to learn from history and work toward a world where everyone is free and respected.
