Abraham Lincoln is known as the Great Emancipator because he believed that all people should be free. When he signed the 13th Amendment on February 1, 1865, he took one of the most important steps in American history. His leadership changed the country forever.

National Freedom Day celebrates Lincoln’s courage and vision. It encourages us to follow his example — to stand for what is right, even when it is difficult. Freedom means having the right to dream, to speak, and to live without fear.
