The History and Celebration of Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day has a long and interesting history. It is named after Saint Valentine, a man who lived in Rome many centuries ago. He was known for his kindness and his belief in love and humanity. According to legend, he helped people marry secretly during a time when marriage was forbidden. Because of his courage and his faith in love, people began to remember him every year on February 14.
Today, Valentine’s Day is celebrated in many countries. People decorate their homes, exchange cards, and send messages of love. Schools and workplaces also organize events to celebrate friendship and kindness. The red heart has become a symbol of love, and it reminds everyone that caring for others makes the world a better place.
