The Big Upside-Down Day

Today is Opposite Day, hooray!
Everything’s backward in every way.
Shoes go on hands and hats go on feet,
We shout “hello!” to everyone we meet.

We walk in circles, hop like frogs,
Pretend that cats are barking dogs.
The teacher sits inside our chair,
While we teach math from everywhere.

We color grass a bright pink shade,
Pretend that snow is lemonade.
Even the sun shines upside down—
It hangs below and paints the town.

The world is silly, wild, and bright,
A playground made of pure delight.
And though tomorrow things won’t stay,
We’ll always love Opposite Day!
