I love a poem, short or long,
It can be funny, deep, or strong.
It rhymes, it dances, makes me smile,
And takes my mind a little while.

On Poetry Day, I love to write,
My words take off like birds in flight.
Poems can make a heart feel glad,
Or comfort someone feeling sad.

Let’s read and share, all day through,
Poems are gifts for me and you.
With pens and paper, let’s all play,
