A Day of History and Pride
Long ago, in Mexico’s land,
The soldiers fought and made a stand.
Against the French, they held their ground,
A story of courage that still resounds.
Now we gather, young and old,
With maracas shaking, drums of gold.
Cinco de Mayo, a festive cheer,
A time for families to hold near.
