Juneteenth: The Day Freedom Spoke
At last the truth rode on the wind,
Across the fields where chains had been.
A whispered hope, a spoken cry,
Beneath the wide and waiting sky.
Juneteenth arrived with justice late,
But broke the locks of cruel fate.
In weary hearts, a fire grew,
As freedom’s promise finally flew.
We honor voices once unheard,
Each scar, each tear, each hopeful word.
Juneteenth reminds the world to see:
Freedom belongs to all, not few, but free.
