A Freedom Long Awaited
Two years had passed, yet silence stayed,
Where lives were bound and dreams delayed.
Until one day, the message came,
And history would not be the same.
Juneteenth—when truth stood tall and clear,
Releasing pain, replacing fear.
A moment carved in time’s own breath,
A victory born from life and death.
We carry now that sacred flame,
To guard all rights, to end all shame.
For freedom’s worth is known too well,
By those who lived where shadows fell.
