Author: Juneteenth National Independence Day

Remembering Juneteenth

Remember drums, remember song,
The strength that carried souls so long.
Through broken days and restless nights,
They held the dream of equal rights.

Juneteenth calls history by name,
Not to divide, but to proclaim:
That truth, once told, must always stand,
A guiding light for every land.

We walk today on paths they made,
With debts of courage still unpaid.
So let our actions, bold and just,
Be worthy of their hope and trust.
