“Ode to a Cat”

O little cat, so soft and sly,
A velvet shadow passing by.
You chase the sunbeam on the floor,
And leave your footprints at my door.

Your purrs are music, calm and sweet,
A heartbeat gentle, soft, and fleet.
Though silent words you never say,
You speak of love in your own way.
