Guardian of the Ordinary

You guard the door, the yard, the night,
But more — you guard my inner fight.
When days grow heavy, slow, and gray,
You lead me back to simple play.

A walk, a breeze, a passing tree,
You teach me how to simply be.
No rush, no fear of what’s ahead,
Just now, just here — the path we tread.

In your small world, so rich, so real,
Life’s greatest truths are what you feel.
And in that trust so pure and deep,
You help my restless heart find sleep.
