A Nation’s Quiet Promise
We promise not to turn away,
Not to forget, not to grow cold,
To keep alive the truth of love
In stories quietly retold.
For in the smoke and shattered steel,
There shone a human, hopeful flame—
Of helping hands and fearless hearts
That gave our grief a deeper name.
Patriot Day renews that vow:
To choose compassion over fear,
And let the strength we found that day
Guide how we live, year after year.
