Farther Vs. Further
A rule of thumb comes in handy here
The difference between the two is quite clear.
Further is what you say when in proper form
And Farther is when you are willing to accept scorn.
Far breaking the word down into syllables you see
In less than polite company is fart and her
Certainly nothing she'd want you to hear.
