The Fool

The fool is happy
And gets to go on all the rides
He’s the star of the show
The children laugh
The adults smile indulgently
At the funny face
And silly antics

The crowd loves him
And everyone laughs
At his expense

The circus ends
The show is over
The big top comes down
The lights go out

Every one goes home
But the fool remains
The fool remains.
