I was sad yesterday
today Im empty
fill me up lord
give me purpose
make me see
and feel and live
really live
laugh and talk
about things

give me things to talk about
give me a reason to hold up my head
to wake up every morning
to not feel like Im on the outside
looking in
watching life pass me by
feeling empty
when the high point of my day
becomes fifteen minutes of phone talk
an old acquaintance cares to give me

fill me up lord
I cannot exist like this
I can't.
