~ Saturday Morning Mood


In me lives a million tears
That never seem to flow.
I do my best and yet somehow
Everywhere I go
I step on toes against my will
And never seem to know.

I’m always good for a merry laugh,
A helping hand to show,
Yet somehow, when my deeds are done,
They never seem to show
The kindness that within my heart
I wanted them to show.

When deep inside I’d like to stay,
Though I know that I must go,
I smile and wave a friendly hand,
Trying not to let it show
That I’d like someone to see my heart
And understand and know.

When I’m choking back the loneliness
And the tears that want to flow,
I pray to God to see the need
That only He and I can know.
Then I raise my head and smile within
As on my way I go.

For He was the one who put the need
Within my heart, I know.
And in His plan for everyone,
He intended us to know
The comfort of another’s love
To ease our heavy load.

So I’m waiting for that far off day
When someone else will know
The need I have and in someway
Those words will tell me so,
And that love will help me take each step
On the path that I must go.
