The Captain's Secret

The Captain's Secret

In that land of make-believe,
Where only children aren't deceived,
I'm the captain of an update spaceship car.

By day a sun's bright ray
Hides my space ships as I play,
So adults never know just where they are.

I play with little cars,
Pretend that I'm a man from Mars,
And no one ever knows I've come this far.

But in the sky at night
Any stars that come in sight
Are just the fleet of a seasoned spacecraft tar.*

My craft is very fast;
I thrill the grown-ups with my blast,
Who think that they have seen a shooting star.
