The Day She Died

It was a scary, bumpy ride.
The driver wore a uniform,
They raced with purpose through the night,
through lightning strikes and thunderstorm.
At last the clinic, just ahead,
EMERGENCY, announced the light.
She'd soon be safe, resting in bed,
when they arrived their Mum had died.
